We keep it sealed

Identity

For highly efficient turbine performance, it is imperative to reduce leakage of the working fluids while the machine is in operation. The annular interspace between rotating and stationary parts is sealed by labyrinth seal strips. Another effect of the labyrinth seal strips is compression of the fluid by utilizing a staggered layout to impose a circuitous path for the fluids as they pass through the machine. Seal strips are installed in sealing grooves on the component part of the turbine. They are positively fixed in the grooves by specially-shaped caulking wires made of stain, temperature and creep-resistant materials, which are additionally annealed by vacuum or solution techniques. Seal strips and caulking wire are complementary parts for turbine assembly. Neither can be used without the other. PGS designs, manufactures and supplies the complete set of seal strips and caulking wires for a given turbine.
